Bubble Activities for Preschool and Kindergarten

Blowing Bubbles Indoors

Materials:

  • Bubble solution
  • Shallow trays
  • Drinking straws

Instructions:

  1. Pour a small amount of bubble solution onto a tray.
  2. Give each child a straw.
  3. Have students gently blow through their straws to create bubbles.
  4. Encourage children to observe how the bubbles form and grow.

Safety Note: This activity requires close adult supervision. Children must understand how to blow through a straw rather than suck liquid into their mouths. For younger children, use traditional bubble wands instead.

Make Your Own Bubble Wands

Materials:

  • Pipe cleaners
  • Bubble solution

Instructions:

  1. Give each child a pipe cleaner.
  2. Bend one end into a circle or another shape to create a bubble wand.
  3. Twist the remaining end to form a handle.
  4. Dip the wand into bubble solution.
  5. Blow gently to create bubbles.

Giant Bubbles Outdoors

Using large bubble wands to blow bubbles outdoors is especially fun!

Provide oversized bubble wands and bubble solution so children can experiment with making giant bubbles.

Encourage students to observe the different sizes of bubbles and watch how they float through the air.
